The purpose of Park Forest Baptist Church is to glorify God by leading the people of our community and world to a vibrant and growing faith in Jesus Christ.

The strategy of Park Forest Baptist Church is to ...
1. Win people to faith in Christ through prayer, love, service, and witness.
2. Build people in their faith through progressive step-by-step training.
3. Equip people to serve Christ by discovering and developing their spiritual gifts and abilities.
4. Empower people to minister to others by granting the appropriate liberty, resources, and accountability to accomplish their mission.

1. We believe the sixty-six books of the Bible are verbally and plenarily inspired by God, inerrant in the original writings, and the sole authority in all matters of faith and practice. (II Tim 3:16; II Pet. 1:19-21, 3:15-16; Matt. 5:18)
2. We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit, each one perfect in holiness, infinite in wisdom, measureless in power. (Deut. 6:4; Isa. 6:3, 40:3-5,13,28, 43:10, 63:16, 64:8; Matt. 28:19; II Cor. 13:14)
3. We believe in Jesus Christ, fully God and fully man, the eternal and only begotten Son of God, Conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, sinless in His life, making atonement for the sins of the world by his death. We believe in his bodily resurrection, his ascension, and his visible pre-tribulational, and pre-millennial return to the world according to his promise. (John 1:1-18; I Cor. 15; Heb. 1:17-18, 4:14-16)
4. We believe in the Holy Spirit who came forth from God to convict the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment, to regenerate, to sanctify, to empower, to indwell, and to comfort those who believe in Jesus Christ. (John 15:16, 16:4-15; Rom. 8:2; I Cor. 3:16)
5. We believe that man was created in the image of God, that he sinned and thereby incurred, not only physical death, but also the death of the spirit, that all human beings are born with a sinful nature and are sinners in thought, word and deed. (Gen. 1:26-27, 2:7,17, 3:3-4,19, 5:3, 9:3-6; Rom. 1:18-32, 3:10-23, 5:12-14; Eph. 2:1-3)
6. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures as the only representative and substitutionary sacrifice, and that all who believe in Him are justified on the grounds of his shed blood and his resurrection. (John 14:6; Acts 4:12; Rom. 3:21-26, 5:6-11, 15-21: I Cor. 15:1-4; II Cor. 5:14-15, 21; Eph. 1:7, 2:8-9; Heb. 10:10-12)
7. We believe that all who receive through faith by grace the Lord Jesus Christ have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God, a relationship in which they are preserved for eternity. (John 1:12, 3:4-7; Gal. 3:26; Eph. 2:8-9; Titus 3:4-7; I John 5:11-13; Rom. 8:30, 38, 39)
8. We believe in one true church – a living spiritual body over which Christ is head, and of which all regenerated people are members. This body manifests itself through local assemblies of believers in Jesus Christ, immersed on a credible confession of faith, and associated for worship, service, fellowship and making disciples of Jesus Christ. (I Cor. 12:13; Col. 1:24, Matt. 28:19-20; Rom. 6:4-5)
9. We believe that baptism is a Scriptural ordinance requiring immersion of believers only, to be administered by a New Testament church. (Acts 2:41, 8:38-39; Rom. 6:3-5; Matt. 28:19-20)
10. We believe that the Lord’s Supper is a Scriptural ordinance of the church to be partaken of by all obedient Christians. (I Cor. 11:23-29)
11. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost, the saved unto the resurrection of life and the lost unto the resurrection of damnation. (John 5:28-19: Rev. 20:11-15)
